Abstract: THE ROLE OF FUND ACCOUNTANTS IN FUND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
This study aims to: (1) evaluate the role of fund accountants in fund performance analysis, (2) identify the key performance indicators used in fund analysis, and (3) propose strategies for improving fund performance reporting. A survey design was used to collect data from 340 fund accountants in Uyo, with the sample size determined using Taro Yamane’s formula. Uyo was chosen for its growing financial sector. The survey instrument had a reliability coefficient score of 0.85. Findings indicate that fund accountants play a crucial role in analyzing and reporting fund performance, utilizing various financial metrics and indicators. The study recommends the adoption of advanced analytical tools and continuous professional development for fund accountants to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of fund performance analysis.
